The new YouSee web-tv solution is not only groundbreaking technologically, but also from a marketing point of view. Acknowledging the fact that successful brands are the ones who wrap their actual products in something adding value to their customers, YouSee contacted In2media to develop an online strategy and find the answer to the question: how do we create added value for our clients and this way around differentiate the YouSee brand from our competitors?
A structured process from A to Z
Behind every In2media solution is a piece of thorough preliminary work, and the YouSee project is no exception. To begin with, we mapped down the web-tv market, and together with YouSee we created a digital strategy about how to approach this market.
Subsequently we advised YouSee about their new technical platform and made a specification of the solution regarding functionality, site structure and content. Finally we produced and designed the platform in every detail. Right from the advanced playing of live tv and movies to the smallest, but not least important, button design.
Together we have created a new digital product
The process resulted in the revolutionary web-tv platform Yousee.tv. Here, it is possible for YouSee broadband customers to watch their tv-channels on their computer too – completely free of charge. They can also access previous programs and plan what to watch with the extensive online tv-guide.
Users who are not YouSee broadband clients are also welcome on the platform. They can buy access and watch live tv with a web-tv subscription and this way around, YouSee has created a new revenue source.
No more trips to the movie rental store
Another new source of revenue is rental of movies online – a market in which YouSee wants to be the leading actor. Here it is possible for everybody – broadband customer or not – to rent premiere and classic movies on a 24 hours basis. Experiences from others countries show that this is a market with a huge potential.
From the day Yousee.tv was aired, it has been received better than we ever expected. The customers love the new possibilities provided for them on the platform and they use it heavily. But that doesn’t mean that we rest on out laurels. A part of a successful solution is also continuously evaluating and optimizing the platform from the learning’s we get when the site is online, making sure that the clients get the best experience possible of – in this case – Yousee.tv.
